Melissa Waterfield is an Associate Attorney at McCleery Law Firm with over 25 years of legal experience. She is dedicated to helping clients navigate difficult circumstances with clarity, compassion, and practical guidance.
Inspired by a lifelong emphasis on service and giving back, Melissa chose the legal profession as a way to advocate for others and make a meaningful difference. She believes the law is a powerful tool for achieving fairness, especially for those facing challenging or uncertain situations.
Melissa earned her Bachelor’s degree from The Ohio State University and her Juris Doctor from Capital University Law School, where she served as an Assistant Editor for the Adelphi Law Journal and participated in study abroad programs.
At the firm, Melissa is known for her steady, experienced approach and her ability to connect with clients on a personal level. Having experienced divorce herself, she brings a deeper understanding and empathy to clients facing similar life transitions.
Outside of work, Melissa enjoys traveling, reading non-fiction, and spending time with family and friends. She also stays busy caring for her home, where there is always a new project underway.
