Moufid Sayej, Esq.

Associate Attorney

“Peace is not merely the absence of war, but the presence of justice.”

– Yasser Arafat

Moufid Sayej is an Associate Attorney at McCleery Law Firm, where he brings a strong courtroom presence, sharp analytical skills, and a deep commitment to client advocacy. A first-generation American, Moufid was inspired to pursue law by his family’s journey and their emphasis on education, sacrifice, and service. His goal has always been to use the law as a tool for meaningful change—and to help others navigate some of the most challenging times in their lives.

After earning his B.S. in Criminal Justice from Youngstown State University, Moufid went on to receive his Juris Doctor from Capital University Law School in 2024. He passed the Ohio Bar Exam with a UBE-qualifying score and was officially sworn in as an attorney in November 2024.

Before joining McCleery Law Firm, Moufid gained hands-on experience in criminal defense, representing clients facing a wide range of charges—from misdemeanors to felonies. He successfully defended a jury trial just two months into his career, securing a not guilty verdict in a case with high stakes and difficult odds.

Moufid also completed prestigious judicial externships with Magistrate Judge Kimberly A. Jolson (U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Ohio) and Justice Michael Donnelly (The Supreme Court of Ohio), experiences that deepened his legal research and advocacy skills at both the state and federal levels.

At McCleery Law Firm, Moufid enjoys working across diverse practice areas including criminal, civil, and family law, and thrives in an environment that values teamwork, growth, and personalized client service. He takes pride in helping clients understand their rights and options—and fighting for the best possible outcomes, in and out of court.

Outside the office, Moufid enjoys jet skiing, home renovation projects, and spending time with his close-knit family. He is fluent in two languages and brings the same persistence and problem-solving mindset to his personal life that he brings to his legal practice.
